discuss [0]Supporting the company
A few people have been asking me what they can do to help the Neorft and the company and I just wanted to write up a quick blog entry about this topic.

There are a few things that every player can do to help us at this point and they are very simple:

1) Play the game - Probably the most important thing you are already doing! Play and enjoy Neorift. We are making this game for people to enjoy. Both Paul and I are avid gamers and are trying to make a gamers game, so if you are enjoying it you are already helping us out a lot.

2) Spread the word - We have a small but dedicated community starting to build here and we are really enjoying seeing it grow but to really get the game working as we always intended it will take many more people. If you want to help us out then please tell your friends. Post on your forums and spread the word to other like minded people that would enjoy the game too!

3) Report issues - If you find a bug in-game please let us know. We do exstensive testing ourselves but we simply don't find everything and this is where you can come in. If you find an issue then please let us know. You can post a forum report in the bugs section or catch one of us online.

4) Share your ideas - We love to hear what you have to say, what do you like about the game and what you don't like. What features you would like to see in the future and anything else you have to say. Every single thing that gets said to us we discuss and consider so anything, no matter how small we would love to hear from you!

So if you are enjoying Neorift then please help us grow into the great game we all know it can be by helping us in the above ways.

See you space!

discuss [0]Neorift. Why you should come back or register!
In the past few weeks there has been a lot of changes and we're finally running a round that we don't plan on resetting. We're tweaking some balancing things as we go, but not resetting.

Here are a few of the things you can enjoy in the game now:
  • 25 playable ships
  • 51 ship upgrades
  • 14 fleet formations
  • Hundreds of NPC fleets
  • 7 unique types of planets (each with their own weather, size, strengths and weaknesses)
  • 8 types of buildings
  • Produce up to 8 out of 14 manufactured items at a time (with many more used for trade)
  • A tree of 81 research options
  • 4 unique military units
  • Countless strategies!

Beyond this we're doing our best to add more daily. Most important of all we should be opening registration for up to 200 people to populate the first beta server as well as opening a second server shortly after.

discuss [2]Neorift: Nova - First Full Round Starts Today!
Hey everyone,

So today a large update was added to Neorift and the server was reset which you can read about here.

This reset marks the start of our first full round of Neorift: Nova. There should be no resets now until this round ends although the exact end date is yet to be decided. There will continue to be new features and functions added to the game but none that will require reseting of the server.

So if you have been holding off getting into the game because of the resets that have been taking place (And I don't blame you if you have!) then now is the time to come back!

discuss [0]Neorift is now on Facebook!
We have just setup our Facebook group and game page which for those of you that are facebook inclined can find here:

Neorift Group

and here:

Neorift Page

So even though chances are that if you are here reading this then you will already be getting all of the latest updates either on the forums or in game via twitter you can still show your support for us and the game be joining the page and spamming the link around your friends. ;)

discuss [1]New Scheule + World Tour
Not really a world tour but I'll be in London England and possibly a few other countries in Europe starting May 8th. The trip is primarily to focus on finishing the game and getting some marketing started. I'd love to meet people from the community as I know there's quite a few across the pond.

As for the schedule, some personal stuff came up thats shifted things but we're back to making progress again with planet battles on the way. Here's what you can expect:

This week:
- Military attack first pass
- Research

Next week:
- Player experience with locked features
- Upgrades
- ship retreat/battle options

Last week before England:
- system to restrict army/tile losses
- Add more fleet formations

discuss [1]Lack of Updates
Hi all,

I just wanted to apologise for the lack of updates from both Paul and myself. Both of us have had some personal stuff pop up at the same time that needed our attention. However that should now be almost over and we should be getting back on track shortly.

Paul will post an updated schedule soon but expect the next update to be a big one!

discuss [5]Schedule!
Sorry to everyone for my lack of presence lately but I've been busy with life stuff and any free time I have had I wanted to use for development. However... good news! The next 2 months are more or less booked solid for NeoRift. Other than fixes for client work, I'm not taking on any new external projects to pay the bills. That means its easier for me to make a schedule that covers the coming weeks.

Here's the plan:

This week:
- Rename ships
- Move items to/from ships
- Redo formation screen
- Military (train, upkeeep and form army)

March 15 to March 19:
- Military attack (from both planets and ships)
- Market segregation

March 22 to March 26:
- Research
- Player experience with locked features

March 29 to April 2:
- Ship upgrades
- Ship retreat
- Military balancing (restrict max loss)
- Add new ship formations

In this time I've also given myself at least one day a week for bug fixing. There's a few more things I've omitted for now but hopefully shortly after these tasks are done we can start some serious large(r) scale testing. Really looking forward to it!

Outside of that, you may notice on the main shadowroot page there is a live stream box. I'm hoping to have weekly Q/A sessions using this where people can talk live with me and Adam giving us feedback and asking questions. Look forward to more about that later (as well as a new video clip).
